Reservations and Retail Manager

Location: Port Allen, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi

About Us: Holo Holo Charters is Kauaʻi’s top-rated boat tour company, offering unforgettable ocean adventures since 1997. We’re looking for a passionate and organized Reservations and Retail Manager to lead our guest services and merchandise operations. Position Summary:
As the Reservations and Retail Manager, you’ll oversee two key areas of our business:

• Reservations – Manage a team of Tour Specialists, ensure daily operations, guest satisfaction, and system accuracy
• Retail – Oversee uniforms and merchandise inventory, point-of-sale system, displays, vendor relationships, and online orders

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on leadership, multitasking, and guest experience excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Reservations Oversight

• Lead, train, and coach the reservations team
• Manage scheduling, timekeeping, and staff performance
• Handle guest communications, refunds, and issues professionally
• Maintain accuracy in reservation system inventory and special rates
• Conduct regular department meetings and contribute to cross-department communications
• Develop and maintain staff training programs and incentive systems
• Monitor and report on sales performance

Retail Oversight

• Maintain POS system, pricing accuracy, and inventory tracking
• Manage uniform and merchandise orders, tagging, and storage
• Keep retail areas and stockroom clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Create engaging merchandise displays with proper signage
• Track and analyze retail sales, trends, and damaged items
• Support online order fulfillment
• Work with Creative and Marketing to source new designs and products
• Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate new opportunities
• Plan and manage retail and uniform budgets

Qualifications:

• 2+ years in team management, reservations, retail, or similar roles
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and POS/inventory systems
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work flexible shifts and be on-call as needed
• Must be comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and navigating a fast-paced office setting
• Strong work ethic, ethical conduct, and attention to detail

Schedule:

• 40 hours/week | Daytime and occasional early/late shifts
• Hourly pay: $28.00–$34.00/hour, depending on experience

Maintenance Technician III

• Lead or assist with major and specialized mechanical overhauls, including diesel engines, marine gear, and marine drive trains.
• Perform advanced, unsupervised services on inboard diesel marine engines
• Lead or assist in diesel marine engine rebuilds.
• Independently diagnose, repair, and replace marine plumbing, marine head systems, marine electronics, and fuel systems.
• Maintain support equipment such as trailers, trucks, and dock equipment.
• Keep vessel topside equipment operationally ready.
• Perform basic seamanship skills, including knots, water operations, and boat handling.
• Responsible for maintaining vessels in top operating condition by constantly improving onboard systems.
• Conduct vessel checks before tours to ensure they are safe and operationally ready for trip departure.
• Maintain accurate vessel maintenance records.
• Assist with general maintenance, projects, and repairs on the vessel, shop, or office.

• Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends & holidays.
• Ability to work 35-40 hours per week, with overtime approval from the supervisor or manager.
• Five years experience in the marine industry is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with the provision of a driver’s abstract for any out-of-state driver’s license upon hire.
• Proficiency in English, with the ability to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written communications.
• Must be continuously contactable and have access to a cell phone.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
• Advanced skill set and specialized knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Diesel mechanic experience is required; Cummins experience is preferred. 

• Strong leadership skills to lead, coach, inspire, support, and motivate the team.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and manage conversations.
• Effective decision-making skills to balance options and decide the best action.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain efficient systems for information and documents.
• Attention to detail, completing tasks accurately, and working well under pressure and with multiple deadlines.
